Belonging to the Society is an integral part of being a professional psychologist. Our different grades of membership cater for those who have accredited qualifications or are pursuing an accredited psychology training route as well as those who have an interest in psychology but have no applicable qualifications.

Our membership grades include (please click for more information)

full member
Full members are Malaysians who have recognized training and experience in the field of Psychology according to one of the following requirements (a) or (b) or (c):
 
Criteria (a):
  1. Has an undergraduate degree in the field of psychology or equivalent AND 
  2. Has a postgraduate degree in the field of psychology
Criteria (b): 
  1. Has an undergraduate degree other than in the field of psychology AND 
  2. Has a postgraduate degree in the field of psychology AND
  3. Completed basic courses in psychology in the eight major fields of psychology
Criteria (c):
  1. Individuals who do not fulfill the above requirements may submit an appeal to the Bureau of Membership and Registration (decision of the bureau is subjected to the established membership registration guidelines)
foreign memberForeign Members are individuals who have recognized training and experience in the field of Psychology according to one of the requirements in Part 1 (Full Member) within the confines of (a) (b) (c).  A Foreign Member cannot hold any positions as a council member but can vote and be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.

associate member
Associate Members are individuals who do not meet the requirements above but have the passion and interest in advancing the goals of PSIMA. An Associate Member cannot vote or hold any position as a council member but can still be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.

student member

Student Member
s are students who are undergraduates in the field of Psychology or other related fields. A Student Member cannot vote or hold any positions as a council member but can still be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.

The Malaysian Psychological Association (PSIMA) and HELP University invites you to submit research, proposals for symposia and workshops for the 2017 Malaysian International Psychology Conference (MIPC).

This year’s conference theme is ‘The Psychology of Peace’, and will feature keynote addresses and presentations revolving around diversity, harmony, unity and ethnic relations.
