Types of Membership

☑︎ Full Members are Malaysians who have recognized training and experience in the field of Psychology according to one of the following requirements of (a) or (b) or (c):
Criteria (a):✓ Has an undergraduate degree in the field of psychology or equivalent AND ✓ Has a postgraduate degree in the field of psychology
Criteria (b): ✓ Has an undergraduate degree other than in the field of psychology AND ✓ Has a postgraduate degree in the field of psychology AND✓ Completed basic courses in psychology in the eight major fields of psychology
Criteria (c):✓ Individuals who do not fulfill the above requirements may submit an appeal to the Bureau of Membership and Registration.✓ Decision of the bureau is subjected to the established membership registration guidelines)
☑︎ Foreign Members are individuals who have recognized training and experience in the field of Psychology according to one of the requirements in Part 1 (Full Member) within the confines of (a), (b), and (c).
✓ A Foreign Member cannot hold any positions as a council member but can vote and be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.
☑︎ Associate Members are individuals who do not meet the requirements of a Full Member but have the passion and interest in advancing the goals of PSIMA.
✓ An Associate Member cannot vote or hold any position as a council member but can still be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.
☑︎ Student member – those who are pursuing their study in the field of Psychology or other related fields.
✓ A Student member cannot vote or hold any position as a council member but can still be part of sub-committees and taskforces set up by PSIMA.
